Bobo is 5!!!
Our sweet Bobo recently had a birthday. As a mother, birthdays can kind of be bittersweet. On one hand there is the excitement that your child is learning new things and gaining new levels of independence, but on the other, there is the sadness that those cute little things will fade with the new. Our Bobo is such a blessing to our family. He lights up the room and never meets a stranger. We often say that he is the evangelist of the family. More often than not, when we go to a playground, instead of playing he is skimming the outside for people he hasn't meet yet. This usually leads to him telling them all about himself and observing all he can about them. When the conversation comes to an end most have a smile of joy and have fallen in love with our sweet little guy all at the same time. He is very curious and has a passion for learning. Most days you will find him dressed in a variety of superhero dress-ups. I love that his imagination is growing and teaching him gives me true delight. I can't wait to see what our Lord has in store for him...
L and his buddy Ty.
We had a party with friends at McDonalds for lunch. Later that night we went to Red Robin (our family's usual place for birthdays.)
Finished up the night with a Generals game. Great day!
WE LOVE YOU BOBO...TO THE MOON AND BACK!!!

The Last Few
The last few weeks have flown by in a flash. In school, we have been learning alot...
about magnets...
the gold rush, many trails that lead west, Abraham Lincoln, the Civil War, and many unique facts about some of our great states. In the pics of the kids under the tree, they are playing Civil War. The cars that went down our street were the enemy. They had play rifles, light sabers, masks, and pretend grenades. Some cars would kind of slow down to wave at the kids. Instead of waving back the kids would point their play guns at them. I wanted to stand with a sign that said "they are playing war and we are not teaching violence around here". I know, I know, HOMESCHOOLERS!
We have managed to squeeze in alot of preschool too. Luke is learning to read!
And lastly, we have been watching this robin's nest on our porch.

Instant Gratification
Now that sewing Easter frocks is complete, and the baby is trying to get herself on some sort of normal schedule, I found myself in the mood to sew something quick. So here it is.... So happy with how the dress turned out. The dress is M6347. It is made of a dark turquoise knit. Super Comfy:) The bag is Simplicity 2685.
I just had to add this pic because this is my sewing entertainment.

Happy Easter!
Luke 20:36
"Neither can they die any more for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the Resurrection." Thank you Lord for sending your perfect Son to die a death that he didn't deserve. Giving us a home in Heaven that without Christ's blood we aren't worthy of. His grace knows no bounds and is AMAZING.
Your Daddy
and I
love you
very much!

Oh the joy to be able to sew for my kiddos on Easter. I started the girl's dresses in January. A little smock here and a little there and finally they were completed a few days before Easter!
HAPPY EASTER!

Knocking the Dust Off the Keyboard
Life has been a little crazy in the last few months. Ms. E joined our family on Dec. 22nd. She has been such a blessing to all of us in so many ways. I feel like we have spent the last few months trying to figure out what our new normal is going to look like. This post will hopefully hit the highlights.... Our sweet gift just in time for Christmas! I had to make matching pj's:)
Our big man turned 7! He is so smart and has developed his daddy's sense of humor..Watch-out!
Princess K turned 3! She is so funny and growing more independent by the day.

Kid's Choir Concert
M had his Christmas Concert at UU. He isn't smiling in the picture. He did smile while singing. We were so proud of him.
The kids totally made my Christmas before we left for the concert. I can't believe they were so cooperative when I ask for a picture before leaving the house.
After the concert we went to Steak N Shake! What a treat.

What we have been up to... and school weeks 11-13
Wow how time flies when you are homeschooling, finishing the second story of your house, Thanksgiving, getting ready for Christmas, and expecting #4 any day now!
Here we are enjoying a break from the loud noises in the house. This is one of our favorite fall activities. We rake the leaves into a huge pile and go down the slide on our play set. This never seems to get old...
I had to throw this pic in.. This is how our kiddos slept for a while. They had lots of giggles at bedtime.
Ok..the upstairs is now complete. Jump ahead to Thanksgiving weekend. These are our little elves decorating our tree. The hubs was not too thrilled about carrying anything else up or down the stairs. He did it anyway:)Thanks Babe!
Who knew Spider Man could decorate a Christmas tree.
We had fun making a gingerbread house.
On to a school review. Week #11 we finished up George Washington. Here is Marcus pretending to be sworn in as President just like Washington.
For week 12 we did Thanksgiving activities. Week 13 was a pleasant change of pace. We are now beginning our state study. Most days we will cover one state and do an activity that goes along with that state. This week we covered the first four states and learned some interesting facts about each one.
M finished Explode the Code 1 book!!! Moving onto Book 2:)
Oh, and we started Unit 18 in Alpha (Math-u-see) it is SUBTRACTION! I can already tell I am going to need to pray a little bit more in the next few weeks.
