A Visit, A Baptism, and A Great Time!

My brother and his family came for a visit. These are such fun times!
Pizza and a movie:)
The girls crafting! They were using ModPoge and scrapbook paper to cover a canvas. It turned out great. They also painted many mornings while the guys played video games.
Marcus got saved a few years ago. For various reasons he had not been baptized yet. Greg had been talking it through to Marcus and felt lead to baptize him himself. We waited until our family was here so they could be a part of it.
My brother and sister-in-law are in the process of adopting a baby from Ethopia. The kids as well as Greg and I are selling different things to help them raise the rest of the money they need to complete the process. This is Marcus giving Aunt C what we have raised so far.
These great black shirts are also for sale. They say Rescuer of the Fatherless. I helped bring an orphan home. They are $25. If anyone wants one just send me an email and we can work out the details.
Thanks for reading and please if you can Bring Our Niece and Cousin Home!!!

Bring on Summer!

The boys finished Awana this year. They both completed their books (well Marcus did his 2 1/2 times), and we are so proud.
We have officially finished school for this school year. We completed Adventures in My Father's World. Although, I have complained in the past about having a curriculum that made me feel like I had to check off every assignment, it does feel great to finish it completely. Marcus did a great job this year and is reading like a champ. Luke is excited to do "real school" he says next year. This picture is at our last field trip this year. It was at Cypress Grove.
I know I said we are done with school for summer. Organized school I guess. We received our Sonlight box and the kids poured into the books. If you have ever looked at a Sonlight catalog these are the types of pics they use to encourage you to buy their curriculum. This is what happens when you get a box full of good books. I think I will send the picture in to Sonlight. We are doing Core B with Mystery of History next year.
Let Summer Begin:)

No Words Needed!

Bobo is 5!!!

Our sweet Bobo recently had a birthday. As a mother, birthdays can kind of be bittersweet. On one hand there is the excitement that your child is learning new things and gaining new levels of independence, but on the other, there is the sadness that those cute little things will fade with the new. Our Bobo is such a blessing to our family. He lights up the room and never meets a stranger. We often say that he is the evangelist of the family. More often than not, when we go to a playground, instead of playing he is skimming the outside for people he hasn't meet yet. This usually leads to him telling them all about himself and observing all he can about them. When the conversation comes to an end most have a smile of joy and have fallen in love with our sweet little guy all at the same time. He is very curious and has a passion for learning. Most days you will find him dressed in a variety of superhero dress-ups. I love that his imagination is growing and teaching him gives me true delight. I can't wait to see what our Lord has in store for him...
L and his buddy Ty.
We had a party with friends at McDonalds for lunch. Later that night we went to Red Robin (our family's usual place for birthdays.)
Finished up the night with a Generals game. Great day!
WE LOVE YOU BOBO...TO THE MOON AND BACK!!!
